Colorado Rankings: And Boom Goes The Dynamite!

Kristina Willis went 12-0 to join Mia Manson on top of the pole vault rankings.

Where to start?

Of course there was an insane amount of big performances coming out of California, but Colorado rankings require Colorado performances, so keep in mind these lists only include performances competed here - as in Colorado.

Luc Andrada has continued to rage over the outdoor season. The Pueblo East senior dropped two state-leading marks over the weekend. His 10.55 in the 100 broke the All-Time John Tate Challenge Cup meet record. Andrada backed that up with his second state-leading mark of the day - a 21.47 victory in the 200.

Back in Denver, Langston Williams and Joseph Maguire clocked the state's first Sub-49 quarters of the season at the Thomas Jefferson Twilight. Williams took the win with a state-leading 48.38, while Maguire just cracked 49, running 48.97.

Yasin Sado added the 1,600 to his state-leading marks. Sado endured a hotly contested challenge from Austin Vancil at Mullen, which culminated with the two running the first and second best marks in Colorado this season. Sado ran 4:16.49 to Vancil's 4:16.49.

Currently the top four times in the state were run in that race (at Mullen), and seven of the top 10.

Adding to the fire from the weekend was Mason Anthony

The Elizabeth senior dropped a state-leading - and new 3A state record - of 37.92 in the 300 hurdles at Mullen.

Garrett Nelson was in the race and nabbed the second-best time in the state so far, running 38.32.

In the pole vault there was no new leader, but Max Manson did go over 17 feet again, which keeps him on top of the leaderboard.

Kain Medrano appears to have heard the call of a battle in the throws, because the Pueblo East senior recaptured the throne. Medrano went big this weekend, with state-leading marks in the discus and the shot. His 192-3 in the discus and 57-9.5 are season bests.

On the girl's side of the rankings Marlena Preigh highlights the field.

Preigh nearly cracked 5 in the 1,600 at Mullen - and that was with a jaw-dropping 68 final lap. The Fairiew senior's 5:00.43 tops the charts.

Likewise, Abby Glynn is clearly revving up her engine. The Mead senior continues to inch her way downwards in the 300 hurdles. Glynn dropped a state-leading, season-best of 45.06 at Mullen, and she brought Claira Gilchrist with her. Gilchrist ran 45.43 for a massive personal best, and the No. 3 time in all-classifications.

Jordan Lanning had an insanely big weekend with four personal bests at the Abel Velasquez Invitational. The most notable is her state-leading 5-9 mark in the high jump.

The pole vault now has two sharing the top of the list. Kristina Willis joined Mia Manson, as both girls went 12-0 this past weekend at Mullen. That's a personal best for Willis.

The discus has a new state leader, and that's Gya'ni Sami. The Sierra senior added nearly four feet to her personal best, winning Mullen with a 136-2 toss.
